For video pros who may be using the iPhone 3Gs
Our sister site ProVideo Coalition received a press release from one of their advertisers this morning about a new professional camera stabilizer. What’s uniques, is that this camera happens to be built into the Apple iPhone. PVC Recently reported about the iPhone being used as a pro camera and now Zacuto has released their iPhone handheld stabilizer, the Zgrip.
This certainly seems like overkill, but don’t get us wrong…we want one. In fact, we’re trying to get one from Zacuto to review for both sites. Stay tuned.

Pretty cool, even for the non-avid fisherman
We won’t spoil the fun of reading their well-worded review, but the conclusion seems to be that you get a lot of game for your $.99!

Where you try to revive the ancient lost art of tossing your penguin at polar bears for sport.
Do you enjoy shooting penguins off catapults? And who doesn’t really? Well then, Crazy Penguin Catapult is the perfect iPhone game for you. The trick to this game is to send all of the penguins on the catapult flying, in an attempt to target the polar bears. It’s quite simple and fun, if not at all politically correct. Perhaps that’s where the fun lies?

Addicting. Very addicting.
Now here is an iPhone game you cannot be without called Cube Runner and it’s absolutely free. The point of the game is to go through a maze of cubes, for as long as you can, without colliding with them. To play all you have to do is tilt the iPhone to dodge the cubes. It’s a three dimensional crash avoidance test, that is incredibly addicting.

A neat little travel app to send postcards.
I have seen this app in the “Featured” list on my iPhone for some time now. I’ve taken a cursory glance but never dropped the $.99 on it…until today.
Postman is a neat little postcard creator that does just about everything correct. When you launch the program you’re given several options for your image. You can choose to take a picture with the iPhone’s camera, choose an image from your library, from a template they provide, and then you even have minor image editing options.

Non-marketplace installs temporarily dead
We’re downloading now and should have an official word from Palm soon. It looks as though the update (according to Engadget) is to fix security issues and that “Sadly, Palm’s plugged the hole that allowed homebrew apps on the phone without a jailbreak, though anything you currently have on the phone will continue to work. How fast will they be back in business, do you suppose?”

No surprise, but the big press is now on the story.
The NY Times has an article today speaking to the tough competitive position Palm is in until their apps store gets going with volume. The developers are waiting in earnest as Palm assures us the SDK will be available by late summer. All this continues to give Apple the advantage with their only a year old apps store. The one year however, has brought us over 53,000 apps.
