FaceTime Not iChat

Why the change Apple?

We understand that the technology will be made as an open standard so other devices can chime in on the call.  I wonder how long before we can chat back and forth via our Macs.  But wait isn’t that iChat?  I’m so confused…

The good news is that this is simple to use (according to Jobs), and can use either of the two cameras on the iPhone 4.  So you can chat (um, have FaceTime) with a friend and also see your face in a small window onscreen, or tap the screen to utilize the camera on the rear of the iPhone to walk through your home, etc.  Cool stuff and I can’t wait to try it out.  Of course for now, only iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 calls can chat (FaceTime!) until the standard spreads.  Perhaps the new iPod Touch?  The new iPad 2?
