Words With Friends Review for iPhone / iPad
My favorite game. Period.
The bonus tiles are really in different places and I’m sure that’s how they get away from not being to “Scrabble-ish” and to avoid attorneys. ALl the important things remain however, DW, TW, DL, DL word scores of course. I did notice however that using all of one’s t tiles in a given turn do not net you the additional 50 points as in Scrabble. Bummer as that could have come in handy a few times…
You can create games by searching for a user name, playing a random opponent, using your contact list, or of course, playing sitting next to an opponent and handing the iPhone/iPad off between turns. You can invite your Twitter and Facebook friends, but I didn’t see a place to record your winning games to your favorite social network of choice. No matter, I don’t like to brag anyway.
The game will auto-zoom as you’re ready to place your letter (iPhone version) and you simply drag and drop your letters to place and remove. There’s a quick “recall” to get your letters back after you’ve created a word that doesn’t exist, and then you can start that round over. You can also chat with your opponent via a pop-up chat window. Great to hear kudos, or pass along your feelings. In the end, you can also keep track of the overall rankings as it will keep a running total of wins/losses
Overall the gameplay is spectacular. We give this app a pure 5 out of 5!
For those not ready to lose at this game…You can try Words With Friends Best Cheats. For those I’ve played with…no I haven’t purchased the Cheat App…yet…
